Charlie Rich

Charlie Rich, known as "The Silver Fox," was a famous country singer from Colt, Arkansas — just down the road from Jim Quessenberry's world. His hits "Behind Closed Doors" and "The Most Beautiful Girl" made him one of the biggest country stars of the 1970s.

Jim frequently cited Charlie Rich as one of the Delta's local legends — another example of world-class talent growing out of the Arkansas cotton fields and river bottoms that produced an outsized share of American music, food, and culture.
