This is the one that started it all. Sauce Beautiful Original is Jim’s championship tomato-based BBQ sauce — sweet on the front, tangy in the middle, with a long smoky finish and just enough black pepper to keep things interesting. It’s balanced the way a competition sauce has to be, built to cling to a rib without sliding off and to brighten up a plate of pulled pork without drowning it.
Brush it onto baby backs or spares in the last ten minutes on the smoker. Stir it into pulled pork. Slather it on a brisket sandwich. Dip your french fries in it if nobody’s watching. It plays nice with beef, pork, chicken, and anything else that’s spent quality time over live fire.
Jim Quessenberry was a two-time World Champion at Lisdoonvarna, Ireland (1985 and 1987) with this sauce in his back pocket. It’s been the family recipe since Michael was small enough to need a stool to reach the pot. We still make it exactly the way Dad did — because why would you mess with a winner.
Championship Legacy
By Lee & Michael Quessenberry — continuing the exact recipes of two-time World Champion Pitmaster Jim Quessenberry and the Arkansas Trav'ler Cooking Team. Same championship flavors. Same small-batch approach. Same "We put the Q in BBQ!" attitude.
